What does "Wh" mean on a battery? (e.g. 499Wh, 720Wh)
Wh (Watt-hours) is the total energy capacity of the battery – like the size of a fuel tank. A higher Wh number means more range. For example, a 720Wh battery will generally take you further than a 499Wh battery, assuming the same bike and riding conditions.
How far can an e-bike go on a single charge?
Range depends on battery capacity, rider weight, terrain, assist mode, and weather conditions. The ranges shown on each product page are tested under standard conditions. In general: ECO mode gives you the longest range; Turbo/Boost mode gives you the most power but shorter range. Think of it like a phone – heavy use drains it faster.
How long does an e-bike battery last before needing replacement?
Most e-bike batteries last 800-1000 full charge cycles before capacity drops significantly. That's roughly 3-5 years of regular commuting. With proper care – avoiding extreme heat, not fully draining regularly – you can extend battery life even further.
How do I charge the battery? Any safety tips?
A full charge typically takes 4-8 hours depending on battery size. Important: Always use the charger that comes with your bike. Avoid charging overnight unattended or in extremely hot/cold conditions. Store the battery at around 50-80% charge if you're not riding for a few weeks.
Can I ride my e-bike if the battery is empty?
Yes – all our e-bikes can be ridden like a regular bicycle with the motor off. Some models have slightly more resistance than a traditional bike, but you can always pedal home.

Here's a quick guide:

I have limited mobility – which e-bike is best for me?
Look for models with:
Step-through frame – no need to lift your leg high to get on or off
Low standover height – you can place both feet flat on the ground when stopped
Comfort geometry – upright riding position, reduced strain on your back and wrists

Should I choose fat tyres or narrow tyres?
It depends on where you ride.
Narrow tyres – lighter, faster, more efficient. Best for smooth city streets and longer commutes.
Fat tyres – more grip, more comfort, more confidence on rough roads, gravel, sand, or snow. If you're riding on mixed surfaces or just want a smoother, more stable ride, fat tyres are the way to go.
⚡ Motor & Performance
What's the difference between a hub motor and a mid-drive motor?
Hub motor – built into the wheel centre. Simple, reliable, and low-maintenance. Ideal for city commuting and flat terrain. Mid-drive motor – mounted at the pedal area, drives through the bike's gears. Delivers better hill-climbing, more natural pedal feel, and superior off-road performance. Typically found on premium models.
What's a torque sensor? Why does it matter?
A torque sensor measures how hard you're pedalling and delivers power in proportion to your effort. Pedal harder, get more assist – pedal lighter, get less. It makes the ride feel natural, smooth, and intuitive, like you've suddenly got superhuman legs. Models with torque sensors are significantly more responsive than those with basic cadence sensors (which just detect if you're pedalling or not).
What's the difference between pedal-assist and throttle?
Pedal-assist (PAS) – the motor helps you as you pedal. You choose the level of assistance (ECO, Normal, Sport, etc.). Throttle – twist the grip and the motor moves the bike without you pedalling. Some e-bikes have both, some have only pedal-assist (common in EU-compliant models).
What does "Nm" mean on a motor?
Nm (Newton-metres) measures motor torque – how much "pushing force" the motor can deliver. Higher Nm means better hill-climbing and acceleration, especially with heavier loads. For city riding, 40-60 Nm is plenty. For hilly terrain or cargo bikes, look for 65+ Nm.

⚠️ IRELAND LEGAL WARNING – Electric Scooters (E‑Scooters)
Under Irish law, electric scooters are subject to strict regulations when used on public roads:
- Speed limit: Maximum 20 km/h
- Power limit: Maximum motor output 400W
- Weight limit: Maximum 25 kg (including batteries)
- Minimum age: 18 years (new regulations taking effect August 2026)
- Mandatory equipment: Helmet and high‑visibility clothing required
- No passengers permitted
⚠️ Penalties for non‑compliance:
- Fixed Charge Notice: €100 for all e‑scooter offences
- Seizure/Detention: Gardaí have the power to seize illegal or unsafe e‑scooters immediately
- Release fee for detained e‑scooters: €80 for the first day, €30 for each subsequent day
- Court appearance: Riding under the influence can result in a fine of up to €2,000
- Prosecution: Using a non‑compliant e‑scooter on public roads may result in prosecution

Are these e-bikes legal to ride in Ireland?
Yes. In their factory default settings, all our e-bikes comply with EU EN15194 standards – 250W nominal power, pedal-assist only, and the motor cuts out at 25 km/h. This means they are legally classified as bicycles in Ireland and the EU – no licence, tax, or insurance required.
Important: Some models offer unlockable higher speeds or power modes for off‑road or private use. However, these are intended only for use on private land – using an unlocked e-bike on public roads may make it legally a motor vehicle (requiring registration, tax, insurance, and a licence). It is the rider's responsibility to know and comply with local road laws. We always recommend riding within the legal limits on public roads.
Do I need a helmet?
While not legally required for adults in Ireland, we strongly recommend wearing a helmet every time you ride. It's the single most effective way to protect yourself.
What's EN15194 certification?
EN15194 is the European safety standard for electrically power-assisted cycles (EPACs). It covers electrical safety, battery safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and performance requirement
🛠️ Maintenance & Care
How do I maintain my e-bike?
Just like a regular bike – keep tyres inflated, clean the chain, and check brakes occasionally. The motor and battery require zero maintenance. For the electrical system, just keep water away from the battery contacts and charge regularly. We're also here for after-sales support if you need help.
Can I ride my e-bike in the rain?
Yes – our e-bikes are rated IPX3 or higher, meaning they can handle light rain and splashes from wet roads. That said, we always recommend riding with caution in wet conditions – braking distances are longer, roads are more slippery, and visibility is reduced. Avoid heavy downpours, deep puddles, or submerging the battery or motor in water. After a wet ride, wipe down your bike and dry the battery contacts before charging. Your safety comes first – if conditions look risky, consider waiting or taking extra care.
What happens if something goes wrong? Do I get a warranty?
Yes – all e‑bikes come with a manufacturer's warranty (typically 24 months on the bike and electrical system, 12‑24 months on the battery, depending on the brand).

All orders (online & in‑store) – covered by the same official manufacturer's warranty. We'll help you with diagnostics, warranty claims, and parts replacement.
Online orders – after‑sales support is provided remotely (email, phone, live chat, WhatsApp). We'll guide you through diagnostics, arrange warranty parts, and provide technical support – all included in your purchase.
In‑store orders – after‑sales support is provided in‑person at our physical location. You can bring your bike to us for inspection, warranty work, and service.
If you need hands‑on support for an online order – we offer in‑person diagnostics and servicing at our store for an additional €150 fee. This covers inspection, labour, and any non‑warranty adjustments. Warranty parts (if applicable) are still covered separately.
In short: If you buy online, you get full remote support at no extra cost. If you need us to physically look at your bike, there's a €150 service fee to cover our time and workshop costs – just like bringing a car to a mechanic. We're always transparent about costs, so just ask if you're unsure.
